05 May Me & My Minitials #1
Me & My Minitials is all about our customers and the story behind their Minitials. Today our first story…
We were a bit surprised when we received an order from Mozambique, Africa. Anke, a dutch native who is living in Mozambique, wrote us she wanted to pick up her Minitials at our office in Eindhoven, while she was in the Netherlands for Christmas. And so she did, bringing along her son Noah. With his bright and cheerful eyes, giving us a big smile, he immediately stole our heart!
This mother and her son have an obvious connection. Tough they share their cheerful spirit, it is obvious that typical blond caucasian girl Anke is not the birthmother of this amazing little chocolate brown boy with his cute afro hair. Anke went with her husband from the Netherlands to Mozambique for his job. She started volunteering at a local orphanage, where she met the second love of her life: beautiful baby boy Noah.
Anke: “To be able to adopt a child and live in his country of origin, to be able to learn his native language and his culture is one of the most special things we are ever meant to be doing in our lives.”
The orphanage where she helps out is sponsored by UNICEF. They mainly provide food and pay some of the salaries of the ladies who work there. Anke is still visiting; playing and cuddling with the baby’s and older children.
Meanwhile she also collects clothes, toys and money to help this and other orphanages in the neighborhood. By being directly involved she knows for sure the donations from her family and friends will be more appreciated and really used!
Anke said she saw Minitials for the first time on Facebook. She thought that it was a beautiful way to honor and show her love for her son. Noah loves it and is really proud that she is wearing his letter ‘N’!
